Essential Oils for Stress and Relaxation

Essential oils are very effective to relieve stress and encourage relaxation. The most effective methods for using essential oils to aid in calming the mind and relaxing the body are vaporization, baths, and massages.  The oils can be used on their own or a combination of multiple scents.

Use oils in a diffuser or an aroma lamp, a
dd 10 maximum drops to a hot bath, or make massage oil by adding 10 drops maximum to one ounce of carrier oil such as almond or olive.

Lavender is the most common for relaxation. It is a sedative and a tonic. It helps you to relax while easing aches and pains. Sprinkle four drops on a tissue and inhale deeply for sudden stress. In the past, people carried handkerchiefs perfumed with lavender water or rose water.

Experiment with different combinations to find the right the effects for you. Do not to mix more than three oils.
