Basalt

Volcanoes are ancient symbols of creation. They represent the four elements: Lava (Earth and Fire), Smoke (Air), Liquidity (Water). Basalt, also known as lava rock, is formed by a  volcanic eruption where fire from deep in the earth was thrust up through rock and earth to be hurled through the air and gently weathered by the rain over millennia. Basalt gives stability during times of change, cleanses anger, reflects negativity, gives guidance and understanding. Promotes strength and courage and can be a great aid in creating balance and grounding. Basalt rocks were once used to build centers and gardens of religious and magical activities.
